Second storey Heritage Extension
Completion: Early 2020

Whitestone was appointed the Project Manager on the Lindfield Heritage Extension after it was refused by Ku-Ring-Gai Council.

The project involved putting together a new team of consultants and appealing the matter at Land and Environmental Court.

The subject site is a local heritage item and within a Heritage Conservation area. Council refused the application primarily for two reasons: the second storey does not fit in with neighbouring buildings and the destruction of original building fabric.

Whitestone was able to resolve the matter within the first two hours of the S34 conciliation without losing any floor space. This was achieved by focusing on the arguments: the second storey is hardly visible from a 'human' perspective at the street front and educating the Council on the true original fabric of the structure.
